I ran for two hours in the glory that is mid-morning. It was my longest run since my November marathon.
For the most part I felt amazing. The sun was shining. The birds were singing. And I wasn’t sitting at my desk at the office wishing I were in my sneakers.
I listened to some of my favourite feel good songs from John Legend, Gnarls Barkley and others. It just felt right.
The trails were pretty quiet. A few people were skating on the Bower Pond and a few were crosscountry skiing. Nice to see people embracing winter in its calm.
True it’s a different story when it’s -30. But you’ll still see me out logging miles.
Anyway… I digress … I ran moderately and steadily. Mostly I was running for endurance and not speed. I have lots of time to get in race mode. Carleigh wants to run the 5k Resolution Run in Edmonton. I’m waiting for them to register before I sign up.
I felt well-rested and limber. My left leg felt pretty good until about the 1.5 hour mark. I wasn’t pushing it too much but I wasn’t crawling either. Good times are ahead. Can’t wait.
