There’s close to 90,000 people living here. The city is also dead centre give or take a few kilometres between of the province’s two largest cities –– Edmonton and Calgary.
You know how I love my cities. It’s only an hour and 45 either way before I am a just another pretty face in the crowd.
Think about all the race possibilities.
In Grande Prairie, I ran the city races, and others in the surrounding communities. But we’d have to drive four and a half hours to the closest big city.
I am really excited about this upcoming race season. The problem is I have too many races to choose from. Edmonton. Calgary. Edmonton. Calgary.
Red Deer doesn’t offer many races. Woody’s race in May is the biggest race. I ran it the last 2 years. I decided this year to run the Calgary marathon instead. (It will also be my first marathon on Canadian soil!)
There’s so many races to choose from within driving distance. I know I can’t do them all so I picked a few (See Race Schedule) but this is likely to change in the coming months.
Knock on wood my work schedule and my body allows lots of finishes lines in 2012. Stay tuned.
