A simple list: what I love about running

Lots of things come to mind when I think about what I love about running. Of course there are days when the last thing I want to do is pull on my sneakers. Then there are days when I really want to run but I do not have the time or I am injured.

On those days, like today, I like to reflect on what I like about running and why it’s important to listen to my body and get the rest it needs. 
So here are a few reasons why I run:

  • Running helps clear my mind and usually puts me in a better mood
  • Running is a great stress reliever
  • I love buying funky running clothing
  • I love the feeling my ponytail makes swishing back and forth when I run
  • Running has so many health benefits.
  • Running is a simple sport. Although I have lots of gadgets, I don’t really need them to run
  • Meeting other runners in the worldwide running cult
If I thought about it long enough I could probably add another dozen or so reasons. Mainly I run because it makes me feel good and a happier person. We all need more happy.
