Making little changes for big results

I’ve been thinking about my diet a lot lately. I need to make some changes. For the most part, I eat pretty healthy. There’s never any junk food in my cupboards and oh yeah, I’m a vegetarian. But just because I eat veg doesn’t mean my diet doesn’t need a little tweaking.
I eat way too many carbs.

Mostly bread, bread and bread. I love bread.
I typically eat 2 pieces of toast for breakfast. For lunch and dinner I’ll add pita, buns or naan bread with the main course. And if I am hungry in the middle of the day? I’ll make toast. Too much bread, right?
I remember a few years ago when I lost weight I reduced the amount of bread in my diet and poof! The pounds melted away. (Yes, I secretly want to drop 15 pounds).
I’ve gone cold tofurky. No more toast. No more pita. It’s been one day.

Since I have a lot of time on my hands, I will give my diet an overhaul. I bought a nutrition book for runners for inspiration.
I’m not a complete nutrition/diet idiot. Years of reading about a vegetarian diet and nutrition has taught me lots.
I don’t think making slight changes will be too difficult. At first I was thinking about taking the wheat out of my diet. But I think it would be way too expensive and difficult. I will buy the odd gluten-free product.
I’m excited to crack open the cookbooks that are collecting dust in my cupboards. Time to shake things up.
