I always feel awesome when I turn someone new onto running. For the last month or so one of my colleagues has joined me at the track. I run before I meet her to ensure I get a strong workout in before we meet up Then I use my time with Laura as a cool down or recovery.
Tonight we met at the Perimeter Trail. I ran a speedy 6 km before we met. I think Laura really enjoyed the change of scenery. I’m sure the predictability of the track was getting to her.
We had a nice run. Leaves were scattered all over the trails. It was cool night and there was no one else on the trail.
I hope Laura will run the Lacombe In Motion race in a couple weeks. I know she will love it. I won’t push her. She’s just getting to enjoy running so I wouldn’t want to put the added stress of running a race on her shoulders. Our jobs are stressful enough.
I’m just glad to have someone locally to talk running.

I’m feeling really hefty these days. I know you might think I am crazy because I rack up the miles on any given week. Maybe it’s my monthly curse. I don’t know but I feel out of sorts. I haven’t changed my diet so overeating is out of the question.
