long into the night

Running for three hours can be tough on one’s body. Even though I felt great during my run and the day after, I still felt sluggish all week.
But I did kill my track workout and another run tonight. I didn’t run nearly as fast I probably should have but I’m okay with that.
I don’t work next weekend so I have lots of time to recover before my next long run. Short, tempo runs are part of next week’s training.

None of this training feels real yet. Last week we received our corral information and our start time. There’s three wave times – 9:40 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. I’m starting in the second wave. I’m thankful we’re not starting last.

Now our bus leaves from midtown at 6 a.m. So that means we’ll be hanging out for 4 hours before we even start running. It’s going to be pure chaos. I’ve read some of the message boards on Facebook and many people have talked about being peed on and all kinds of crazy. Not looking forward to this bit at all.
