I haven’t used up all my lack of motivation cards. Today I cashed in half a card. I ran 6 km after work. I hate running after work. I hate running late at night. Yesterday I did not have a good run because of dehydration. Tonight’s run was fine but I didn’t want to run far. It’s been a low mileage week. And I think I am okay with that. Next week I’ll bounce back.
And to add more to my motivation deck… I am putting some cash down on a new pair of sneakers! I’m heading to Calgary tomorrow to pick out a pair of beauties from Running Run. I can’t remember how long I’ve had my Mizunos. It has to be at least 9 months. I can feel it when I hit the pavement. Not a good sign.
I’ve been switching between them and my trail runners so I believe that’s saved my poor legs.
As well Audrey and I ordered some official training gear from the ING New York City Marathon website. Coupled with my snazzy new (hopefully pink) sneakers, I hope the new swag will pull me out of the running doldrums.
