not in the same vein as an earthy orange like a clay pot

For this morning’s long run, I started near Three Mile Bend and headed south to Heritage Ranch. It rained a little over night and sprinkled a little in the early hours of Sunday. I was glad it wasn’t too warm becaues I started late again.
There wasn’t much traffic on the trails.
Though I did see a policeman with six or seven guys dressed in bright orange jumpsuits near Bower Ponds. The first time I saw them they were across the road so I couldn’t tell if they were actually “convicts” out doing their duty. Nearing the end of my run, though, we crossed paths. They were picking up trash.
I took a good look at their ankle bracelets and the officer’s gun. I tried not to make eye contact with any of them. They were all smiley.
I picked up my pace and kept on. You never know what you are going to see on your long runs. Twice this week, I was surprised by wildlife. A skunk blocked by path and I nearly stepped on a duck. Seems everyone is out enjoying the nice weather.
