I ran a tough 18k this morning in the blistery cold. My water froze. My iPod died.
It was wintery by all means. I slipped at one point and did something funky to my right foot. I think I came down hard on it when I was trying to keep my balance. I hate falling.
I pushed on and ran and ran.
We ran from Starbucks on 68th Ave down RR 63 to Resources Rd to Evergreen Park and along Resources to our starting point.
There wasn’t a lot of snow on the road until I hit the path along Resources Rd.
Snowshoes would have done the trick. I felt like I was running through white, fluffy quicksand. My legs were working overtime.
It was tough.
I jumped through the ditch to run along the highway for a stretch. The remainder of the route was fine. Except for the second time in three days, I nearly got mowed down on a crosswalk by a minivan driver. Motorists, watch where you are going. I had the right of way.
