I’m approaching the finish line. I am slowing down because there’s a camera! And there’s Audrey screaming go Crystal go! I need to follow Laverna and Amber’s example and bring it to the finish line. I just wanted to look cute crossing the finish line. Is that so wrong? Although I didn’t accomplishment this I felt good with my time.
The two hills were a little tough but I managed to bully myself into running up them. Coming down was a blessing. I thought the race would have been a trail run so the road race was a little disappointing. I got over it because it was a nice route. I am so thankful I didn’t run the 20k. There was an even bigger hill than the two I encountered.
It was really nice to have Audrey back running. She has the running bug again. She’s been off for a few months because of a skiing injury. I’m glad to have a running buddy again! I hope I can convince her to do a couple races with me this summer but only if she is ready.
Now back to the training grind. Less than a month before I am running the half-marathon in Red Deer. I heard yesterday there’s lots of other people from GP going. I’m a little disappointed my friend is not coming with me so I was happy to hear others will be there. Maybe I’ll have someone to eat the pasta dinner with, who knows?
