Funny, it’s my day off and still my eyes snap open bright and early in the morning. That’s fine because I had to finish writing my review of the concert last night. I’ll post it here tomorrow after it runs in the paper.
I spent my morning organizing and researching. I felt like reading. And so I did. I haven’t made time lately to do my polish my skills and do some career-based research. That’s a big no-no when you’re trying to stay on top of the game. I hate being out of the know and reading and more reading and research and more research always gives me a little thrill to uncover something or to learn something I didn’t know. That’s one of the things I loved about teaching. I kept learning something new and with this new knowledge I could pass it on to someone else.
Undoubtably that’s my big attraction to journalism – the constant discovery and education. Why can’t everyone be curious or interested in other things than themselves and their worlds? Maybe it would make the world a little less distant.
I wanted to play football tonight. Toss the ball around and get some exercise. Sadly I could not convince one person to don sneakers and join me in the park. Looks like I’ll be going for another run around the Bear Creek tonight once more.
