And back to the reality I have to work for a living. Today was the first time in a long time I didn’t make much progress in my stories. Several people did not return my calls and I wrote a short advancer for something that happens this weekend. That’s how slow it was in my beats today. Indeed, a slow news day. But it did give me a chance to reflect and watch others at work play.

It’s funny there are always alliances (depending on the day of the week of course) in any work situation. In the last few months, or since I have been here, change has been consistent. It’s amusing to watch the backstabbing and the jealousy and the know it all attitudes at play. Really it could be a drama series. Most of it is predictable but funny nonetheless.

None of which really has nothing to do with me that’s why I watch with glee! Often I turn the TV on in disappointment because nothing matches the real life drama at my work place. Sad but true. I wonder if I should cancel my cable.

  1. This entry is very funny. I agree with some of what you've said, I think the newsroom would make an amazing, juicy tv show … I'm surprised no one has done it already. But I wonder, who are you talking about? Cause I don't agree with everything you wrote…maybe you should tell.
