A trip to Sexsmith

I went for a short drive to Sexsmith this afternoon. It’s only 20 some kilometres away. It’s Labour Day and I didn’t expect the streets to be bustling with activity. I was correct in my thinking I would be one with the town. I could count on my hand how many people I encountered walking the streets. One lady lost her dog and she kept calling out his name. I hoped she found him. I would have offered to help but at this time I was engaged in conversation with myself.

Actually that’s stretching the truth. I sat on a curb, started at a church and spoke to Lisa, who is in Ottawa suffering from a mild hangover. It’s funny the perspectives you get while sitting on a curb on an empty street gazing at a church which is undergoing renovations. And also the looks. Yes, I am sitting on a curb on a not so sunny day with the sky threatening to open up at any minute.

I didn’t get wet and it only started to rain once I got back on the highway. I wouldn’t have minded so much if it did rain. I love the rain. Only my camera would not have been amused. I took a couple pictures. Funny when you’re looking for pictures I see nothing in front on me. Regardless I took a few snaps of a couple buildings to justify the lugging of the camera.
