As part of the Canadian Public Health Association’s Annual Conference, a public forum was held last night at the Congress Centre to discuss the David Suzuki’s Foundation’s report, “Prescription for a Healthy Canada: Towards a National Environmental Health Strategy.”
Guest speakers included the Ambassador of Sweden to Canada, Ingrid Iremark, co-chair of the Environmental Health Committee for the Ontario College of Family Physicians, Dr. Lynn Marshall and Dr. David Suzuki.
Nearly 500 people jammed into the conference room to listen to the discourse and the speakers. If David Suzuki weren’t involved, I don’t think half as many people would have shown their faces.
David Suzuki is a complete firecracker. He lights up when he gets going. It’s hard to believe he is 71-years-old. If only all seniors were this vibrant and passionate. Keeping the crowd going with jokes and musings, Dr. Suzuki was a crowd pleaser.
