Thalis are all you can eat meals served on a stainless steel plate. A vegetable or two, raita, chapatti and some dhal is usually what you will get. Pictured here you will see the remains of my thali in Haridwar. The boys kept coming round wanting to give me more. I kept saying no and pointing to my belly.

One thing that hasn’t disappointed me is the food. Simply put it rocks. Whether you are a veg or non-veg India offers mouth watering, scrupulous chow. What makes it even more distinct are the neat little restaurant classifications. Restaurants bare signs reading non-veg, veg, or pure veg (without eggs). I love it. I haven’t eaten meat since I stepped on Indian soil. My favorite dishes are channa masala, palak paneer and aloo gobi.

Naturally each state has its own specialties. Here in the North you will see restaurants for South Indian food. Then in the South you will see signage for Northern Indian food. All of it is fine with me. I can always find something that satisfies my belly.
