welcome to the neigbourhood

Sonalee and I took Ruby for a stroll around the neighbourhood. Nearby there is a school and plenty of interesting shops. Several parks are close by with tons of space to play cricket or have a picnic. There’s not much difference here than in a Canadian suburb.

What I do recognize as different are all the beautiful saris the women are wearing. How colorful and exotic they are. Such romantic and sexy designs. Much to Sonalee’s delight, we are going to play dressup with her Indian garb. Actually tonight we’re going to a dinner party at Sujay’s workmate’s plac. I’ll take pictures.

I haven’t done much since I got here. I think that’s okay but I am beginning to go stir crazy. Sonalee’s husband is going away on business on Sunday and she wants me to stay on until he returns a week later. I am not sure what to do. I really appreciate their hospitality but I am starting to feel closed in.

Last night, Sujay gave me some great travel suggestions and a brief overview of Indian history. I find when someone tells me something I am more apt to remember than reading about it in a book.
