leaving on a jet plane to MUMBAI, INDIA today whoo hoo!

I sit at Bangkok’s new airport waiting for my connecting flight to Mumbai. With six hours to spare, I quickly found a salon which offers thai massages. Paying triple the price I would pay in the city, I received an hour long traditional massage. It was pure heaven. My body demanded gentle caressing especially after my final night of chaos in Vietnam. I met an Australian couple from Tasmania at my favorite Bia Hoi venue. Since I am a magnet for Australians, I joined them for several drinks which sparked my morning hangover. Again I ask myself, why do I do this to myself? The massage really helped and I feel rejuvenated.

My final day in Vietnam was not newsworthy. Most of the day I sat at the lake reading and writing in my journal. Being at peace is what I need before my big adventure in India, and water always seems to calm me. To be honest, what worries me the most about travelling in India is the food. I am not worried about getting sick eating the food, like most people. I am worried that I will gain 20 kgs or more. That wasn’t a problem here in Vietnam, particularly in the North. The food was pretty bland and tasteless. In the South, I quite enjoyed it but the more North I travelled the less flavor there was. I found myself eating the same boring meals everyday. I will say though the Vietnamese sure can cook tofu. It was awesome.
