how to be happy, happy, happy

I question my students each day, “Are you happy, happy, happy?” Usually I am met with a rolling of the eyes or a smile. I don’t remember being as sullen and lethargic when I was a middle school student. It really is sad. Granted these kids are in schools and academies all day from the crack of dawn to late at night, but come on. How is being negative and grouchy going to help? So with that in mind I dedicate this page to my ungrateful, colorless students.

Tips on how to develop a positive mental attitude

• Get a change of scenery.
• Do something challenging and fun..
• Accentuate the positive.
• Practice an attitude of gratitude.
• Focus on the possibilities.
• Work on things you enjoy doing.
• Think positively.
• Learn to tell a good joke.
• Laugh out loud when people tell you a joke.
• Learn to be satisfied with what you have.
