Not so far from the maddening crowd

Today was filled with possibilities. I guess everyday is filled with possibilities but today was special because I didn’t have to work. Yes, a day off. Our hogwan was closed. I tried to sleep in but my internal alarm woke me up at around 8:30. Despite trying to fight it for awhile I gave in and got out of bed around 9:30. I did have a private in Seomyeon at noon so I thought I should get up and stretch before I head out the door.

I decided to play my day by ear after my private, which is a change for me, since I have such little time off, I always plan, plan and plan but today was going to be different. After my private, I walked back to Gaegeum and I ate at this wonderful bo re bap restaurant. It was awesome and cheap! It was perfect for those off the wagon vegetarian types like me, lots of greens and tofu! I loved it! Then I decided to walk along the subway line to check out other neighbourhoods. The walk was completely concrete jungle. I walked for about 2.5 hours then headed off to the bathhouse, before TKD. But oh no! it was closed. I was pi*sed because my feet and back were aching (I was carry a heavy backpack for fun!). Now I had two hours to kill before TKD so I went shopping!

I checked out a million stores, and I finally settled on these hiking boots! Aren’t they cute? I was really excited to try them out but…..I banged up my left baby toe at TKD! It is swollen and I can’t put my sneaker on! I am so pis*ed and I have another TKD test tomorrow night!#%?! Then to top it off it took me about half an hour to walk home from the subway station (when it usually takes 10 minutes) and the corner store by my apartment does not sell ice!
