It´s days like today that make me really hate my job. Not only did I work on a beautiful, hot summer day but I had to deal with spoiled teenagers for students. Maybe it was the heat that made me short tempered tonight. Or maybe the red dye was affecting my motor skills. Whatever the reason, I was mean teacher tonight. I wouldn´t be surprised if the parent´s of my students called and compained first thing Monday morning.
It´s such a bitch to teach in this country. The students don´t give you any respect. And there´s nothing you can do about it. Discipline is useless. My supervisor tells us to punish bad students. But how? We give students more homework but they almost always never do it. We put them out in the hall with their hands up and they laugh with their friends. Students have the upperhand. Students know that ultimately if they are not happy or they hate you, they will complain to their mom and dad, and their parents will take them out of the hagwon. Then guess what? You´re a bad teacher because you cost the hagwon a student and most importantly, money!! But I know this and I understand what this system is all about. But I am still annoyed by these little shits when they disrespect me!
