My 24 in 2024 bucket list

In the blink of an eye, my world almost collided with disaster as I narrowly escaped a head-on collision with a white SUV driving down the wrong side of Trans Canada Hwy 1.

It was December 23, the morning after our last dump of snow. Conditions were not the best and most people were thankfully driving 80 kilometres/hour.

The gravity of the situation hit me as I finally reached Barrier Lake. What if that moment had been the end?

It’s moments like this that remind me that life is short and every moment counts. Reflecting on this, I realized that 2024 shouldn’t be just about setting mundane running or fitness goals. It should be a year dedicated to rediscovering the passions that truly bring me joy – learning, exploring, writing, and capturing moments through photography.

bucket list

With that in mind, I created a 24 in 2024 bucket list. Some items are entirely new – like visiting Saskatchewan, running 100 miles and writing a song – while others are just forgotten joys such as listening to live music, cooking and studying a language. Some items are very broad, and I will expand on them in a future blog post.
