Maybe I did it in my sleep? Sometime over the last week I injured my foot and right hip. I am not sure what happened. All I know is today my right foot and hip were screaming bloody, bloody murder. My right foot was not feeling this morning’s run. I slowed down my pace and it didn’t do the trick. The pain worsened throughout the day.
My right Achilles is now swollen and is painful to touch. Honestly I am not sure what the heck happened. I have been running on the asphalt regularly and I have not been pushing my pace. This is my first hiccup in months. So what is going on?
I got checked out this morning and I was told to rest and to stretch. No news there. I am slated to run a 10K race on Sunday. I don’t want to give it a pass because it’s Red Deer’s biggest racing event in the city. I am going to cross my fingers that when I wake up tomorrow morning the pain will be a distant memory.
I just hope this pain is just some temporary phantom pain of sorts. That’s possible right? I’ve never had good luck with the 10K race at Woody’s. Maybe I should just call it a day and sell my bib. (Just thinking out loud here.) Meanwhile it’s less than four months before Lost Souls! (And even less time before Iron Legs.) Time sure is flying. I can’t wait!
Anyway please send your positive vibes my way. I am going to stay upbeat and not panic.
Oh no!!! I hope your Achilles calms the hell down!
