Introducing: Yoga Run Club

Jackie, Vinnie and I have been chatting on Twitter about a “yoga run club” for weeks now. This morning we finally logged off Twitter and headed out on the trails along the Red Deer River.

We met at Bikram at 8:45 a.m. I decided to run to the studio because I needed to get in a longish run. I love watching the sun rise with each step. Now if I could get my butt out of bed more often to witness the dawn of the new day …

yoga run club What a good-looking group! We ran at a happy pace across the CPR bridge to Bower Ponds and on another bridge, along the Red Deer River and back to the studio. We met several people on the trail, which was good to see. Red Deer is coming out of hibernation.

After our run we took a few pictures including this quick yoga pose. (Notice Oswaldo is missing. Where are you?) My excuse? Someone had to take the picture.

yoga run club So this is a look at my running route. All together it was 24K (run to studio, with group, run home). My legs did not disappoint. I was happy that I still had some energy left after took off my sneakers.

yoga run club I spent quite a bit of time rolling out my legs because I know my body will feel the impacts of the pavement tomorrow. I am staying in Red Deer to train this weekend. I have a long list of things to get caught up on. But tomorrow I am meeting Carleigh somewhere north on Hwy 2 for lunch and to pick up my dehydrator. We haven’t decided yet on our meeting place.

I digress … I am staying close to home to get caught up on everything that I have been neglecting. Seriously I know we all have the same 24 hours in a day but sometimes I feel like I am on the short end of things.

I will likely do another longish run after I get back from meeting Carleigh.

I am going to log out, shut down and get outside.

Happy trails.
