From the sidelines: Super Spartan

Right so this weekend I am supposed to be in Lethbridge for Lost Soul. But as you know, I had to defer until next year. It sucks but what can you do? I tracked Diane and Laverna online so I sorta felt like I was there … sorta.

Anyway Lost Soul is the same weekend as the Super Spartan in Red Deer. Two years ago I ran it with Megan and we had a blast. I didn’t feel like shelling over any more money for races this year and I didn’t want to risk the chance of hurting myself even more.

Of course Ashley would compete. He’s addicted to these races! I missed him cross and found him in the beer tent. (Why am I not surprised?) It was great to get up caught up with him. I miss our old running days! (Now we are just older and slower.)

It was a beauty of a day for a race. I heard it was scorching hot in Lethbridge too. Why is it always so so hot on this weekend?

I stood at the finish line to watch a few competitors climb over stuff and up stuff. Yes I felt lazy and a little envious. It was fun to run into a few people I knew. The race atmosphere was amazing. Everybody was so pumped up!

My boyfriend completed the trifecta with the Super here in Red Deer. Earlier in the year Pedro ran in Montana and Calgary. Ashley will go for his trifecta in Kamloops in two weeks.

I love this last photo. There was a small group of runners who were cheering these four. It turns out they are all members of a gym in Saskatchewan. I talked to one of the women and emailed her some photos.

Happy to share the gift of photo.
