5 Things You Should Know About My Road Trip

I am hitting the road on Saturday for two whole weeks. (Please do not rob me. Really I own nothing. It’s not worth your effort). In case you missed it, these are the guidelines of my solo getaway.

1. I am driving

To break up the drive, I am stopping in Kamloops for a short visit with Lana.  I’ve never really spent any time in the city so I am excited to explore a new place. As luck would have it Jack & Lisa will be in Kamloops at the same time on their way to Vancouver Island. We are going to meet at a coffee shop and take the drive to Horsehoe Bay to catch the ferry. We reserved our spots earlier in the week. I’ll be spending some time with Eric and Sara before I hit the hiking and camping scene.

2. I will be reading

Books. Books. Books. It’s been months since I settled into a reading groove. In my downtime I will have my nose in a book.

3. I will be moving

While I am on the running injury reserve list, I plan on hiking A LOT on my trip. It’s going to be freaking awesome. I can’t wait to break in the fresh air and be one with nature.

4. I don’t really have a plan
I’ve procrastinated researching my trip. I leave early Saturday morning. I am just going to go where the wind blows on Vancouver. Cross your fingers that I secure camping. Otherwise I will be sleeping in my Versa.

5.  It’s all about me
I really, really need some me-time. I can’t remember the last time I had a non-race related holiday. I have been feeling so burnt out and stressed lately. We’ve had many changes at work which stresses a person out. It will be nice to get away from the office. Oh yes,  I am more than ready to hit reset on my body and mind.

  1. Well we have a spare room and perhaps the next time when you don’t have two weeks you could come and eat some good food, sleep in, go for walks, have talks, drink some wine and yes, even read some books…at our house??
