Run for your life & other drama

I was forced to run for my life on Wednesday. The rain was coming down in buckets and the thunder was threatening. I was in danger of being struck by lightning if I didn’t find shelter at once.

If course this meant I had to run “fast.” I had no choice and I was worried about my iPhone. It doesn’t like water.

I ran a crazy 5K under this silly rainstorm which stopped as soon as I reached the comfort of my desk. Funny how that happens, right?

So now it’s Thursday and my right foot is screaming bloody murder. The pain extends to just below the inside of my knee and into my hip. Obviously I did something that does not agree with my ailing runner’s body.
Sigh.
I skipped another planned run and headed straight to the walk-in clinic for an X-Ray referral. Thankfully my boss let me leave work early. I’ve been considering dropping my bib for Lost Soul because my body continues to break down at every possible corner. Sometimes I think it is easier to say to heck with it all and just sit on the couch and eat Fritos.
After waiting for nearly two hours at the walk-in clinic, a doctor believes I have a pinched nerve. I am going to get x-ray tomorrow on my hip and my lumbar spine. The doctor dismissed my foot pain concerns. He said it is not Achilles tendinitis because it would not cause the pain in my calf. At my insistence, he checked my Achilles a few times. (I think I annoyed him.)

So off I go to get x-rayed bright and early in the morning. No crossfit and no running.

Wish me luck!
