I know this post is a few days late. Sorry life got in the way of posting. I worked on the weekend so that means I worked on Canada Day. I didn’t mind too much. Besides the extra pay, I got to attend the Canada Day celebrations to chat with people.
It was a gorgeous day. Our Canada Day celebrations were moved to a recreation centre because of the recent flooding. Parts of the park system along the river were damaged making the areas unsafe for people. I didn’t mind because it was easier to get in and out of the centre. The outdoor celebrations were wonderful. Lots of diversity.
I asked people what they love and respect about Canada. Most people answered “diversity, multiculturalism, large landscapes and freedom.” Nice to hear the pride in their voices. I liked what I heard.
