Warming up in Red Deer and Plans for a 10 km race

I wasn’t surprised to see my LTR group overdressed for our run this morning. After suffering through a week of sub 30C temperatures, we were used to layering. Better be safe than sorry is what I always say.  It was -4C when we started. I loved it. I wish we could have run for another hour or two. Alas, I had to work.

I did manage a speedy 8k from work around 4:30 p.m. It was so nice to run in the day light. I have so many things on my plate right now. I don’t know if I should concentrate on gaining distance for next month’s half-marathon or work on my speed for my marathon. Decisions. Decisions. Steven suggested I work on my 10k time. He thinks I can do a sub-50 time.

I convinced 3 people on Twitter – @amanda_marie77 @lu3tta @suzesilver – to run the Woodys RV World 10km race in May. I promised @suzesilver I would train with her and anyone else who wanted to learn for the race.

The race is the weekend before the Calgary Marathon so it fits nicely into my training schedule. I’m so excited to have a tangible goal. Also I am thankful Steven promised to be my coach.
