42 days until I run 42 km

It’s been a long week of training and work. Thankfully I am off this weekend. I ran 30 km this afternoon. Yes, 30 km. It was long (3:20) and painful at the end.

I ran today instead of Sunday because I wanted a full week for my legs to recover before the half-marathon next weekend.

I felt strong. At times I probably ran too fast but I was so darn tired of running.

My route turned out pretty good. I didn’t have to back track which helped in a big way. When I got home I sat in the tub and ran cold water over my legs. An ice bath is supposed to help with inflammation. I didn’t have that much ice so I made do.

It was so cold. I don’t know how those elite athletes, like Amber, do it. But if it works, I’ll gladly give it a go.

Tomorrow’s going to be a full on rest day. I’m positive my legs will thank me for it.

  1. 30 km is awesome Crystal! I was hurting after running 5 yesterday! LOL… That's what I get for taking time off.
