I wanted to stay off the roads on the most long weekend. But when my friend Amanda said she was on her way for a few days of running and hiking, I threw down my book.
A word of advice? Never say no to a trip to the mountains.
Because we didn’t want to be caught up with Banff chaos, we headed to Prairie Mountain and Mt. Allan. Finally we gave our legs a little rest by running the perimeter of Nose Hill Park.
Prairie Mountain
I know what you’re thinking – Prairie Mountain again? Honestly I never get tired of the views. Also it’s a short hike, perfect to take those who only want to be out for a couple of hours. Besides it’s super close to home.
Mt. Allan
I absolutely love the rock formations in the rock garden. It’s such a cool place and I encourage you to do this hike/run at least once this year. You won’t be disappointed.
What has been your favourite hike this year? Is there a mountain that you climb again and again without tiring?
