Bring on the long weekend

Welcome Friday.

I’m so ready for this long weekend. I don’t have any exciting plans but I will take that extra day.

I didn’t run much this week. I let the magic pills do their work. Instead I dragged my (now very sore) butt to crossfit. I blame coach Courtney who made us do 100 lunges carrying a 15-pound plate. She’s a mean one. Don’t let that innocent smile fool you!

Likely I will get caught up on all the things I put off when I’m away on the weekends. I have to start planning my two-week trip to British Columbia. It’s coming up soon. I can’t wait to spend some time catching up with Sara & Eric and meeting their little one.
You may find me on the top of a mountain some time in the next three days. But I’m a little hesitant to leave the city in this rental. It has soft brakes and I don’t feel safe driving it. I tried to switch cars but the rental does not have anything available. My car was supposed to be fixed by today. Now I am told it won’t be done until Tuesday.

One thing is for sure โ€“ I need to move my body. Since I have all but stopped running I feel like a complete slug. Everyone has been polite about it but I feel like I have gained copious amounts of weight. Don’t you hate that feeling?

Anyway … I am looking forward to unplugging and embracing the days.
