I went to what I hope is my last physiotherapy appointment in awhile this morning. I didn’t do much besides fall asleep while I had a heat pack on my left hip.
I’m back to running and I haven’t had any pain in my hip. I forgot to do my exercises for a couple days but I think standing up all day has made the biggest difference. I should have switched to a stand up desk long ago.
My physiotherapist performed a few tests on my pelvis. I am still out of whack but I have made some progress. He said he is not too concerned because most people are not perfectly aligned. It is when I feel pain that I should begin to worry.
Physiotherapy is not cheap. I’ve already burned my work coverage plan for the year. Cross your fingers that I do not have to go back again this year. I guess the real test will be when I am back up to running 80 kms a week.
I am super excited to get back into training mode. Like I said yesterday, I feel like a complete snug. I am not running today or tomorrow. I need to save my legs for Blackfoot. I am leaving work early tomorrow so I can beat the weekend traffic.
I may take a scenic route to my hotel in Sherwood Park. I finally bought an FM transmitter for my Versa. Now I can play podcasts through my car speakers while I drive.
HAve a great race…all the sun, fun…and i hear that the aid stations are the BEST at this race.
It’s good that you’re slowly building up to getting back to your old routines. You just have to be aware of those tell-tale signs, so you know if you’re doing things way too fast. That way, you can avoid another physiotherapy and dent in your finances in the near future. Anyway, take care and have fun!

Welcome back! I'm sure the physiotherapy did wonders for you. Nothing feels better than being able to use one’s full faculties again, especially after a period of inactivity and restlessness. Anyway, I hope you’re keeping tabs on it even now, so it won’t get too aggravated as you go along. Good luck, and take care!
