Does that make me a flake?
I know daydreaming often gets a bad rap but I also heard that it can lead to more creativity. I sure hope that’s true because I’ve been running head first into the old writer’s block lately. (I am blaming my low iron levels for the writer’s block my inability to string a basic sentence together.)
This week I learned that I am part of a seven-person team for next year’s Sinister 7. It’s a 161-km trail race run over seven stages in Crowsnest Pass. Runners โ both soloists and relay teams โ have 30 hours to finish the course.
Darrell had asked me earlier this summer if I wanted to be on his team. I had totally forgot about this until this week when he tweeted that our team was in. The race sold out in two minutes flat. Seriously it’s that popular. Doug is also on the team. I don’t know the rest of the team but I think they are pretty hardcore. Team name? Fat Bastards. No further comment needed.
I’m actually excited because I have never been asked to be on a relay team before! I guess I give off that vibe that I suck. I’m the only chick on the team too. I volunteered to run Leg 3 because I wanted something challenging. This race is expensive too so I want to get my money’s worth! The nick name for my leg is “Satan’s Sack.” Yikes. Not sure if I should be worried. According to the race description it’s “dry, hot and exposed” but the views atop the Continental Divide make up for it. Give me all the views!
And that’s my week in a nutshell.
Are you a daydreamer? What do you dream about?
Hey, thanks a lot for the "too racy" tease—no fair!!!
Oh, and btw, the Sinister 7 sounds pretty cool and awesome that a bunch of guys want you to run with them! Sounds like they wanna win this thing!
