I am ready as I ever will be for Lost Soul 50K. I mean I have to be โ it’s on Saturday! Time to get excited! I have the nervous bit covered. Training for this race has had its ups and downs. I have been dealing with a bum ankle and Achilles issues for weeks. I don’t tend to write about these woes because honestly it doesn’t help dwelling on the negative. Besides there’s enough bloggers out there who have that covered.
Steve and I ran leisurely at Riverbend today. It was lovely. I am thrilled that he has embraced running as much as he has. I just wish he would show up on time.
I been purposely staying off the Lost Soul’s Facebook page. I am only a few minutes away from totally freaking myself out. I would rather go into the race not knowing the specific details than knowing every little ounce. I should just buck up because it’s only 50K.
Mark is running his first 100K! He’s hoping to finish before I even start. Laverna was supposed to run the 50K but she cannot get a ride from Grande Cache. I won’t know anyone running the 50k. I am fine with that but it’s always nice to see a familiar face on the trail.
Jean from Lacombe advised me to use my poles for my race. I haven’t been using them much. It’s a pain in the ass carrying them when you’re not using them. But if they will save my legs, it’s totally worth it.
There you have it … in less than a week I will be in Lethbridge for Lost Souls!
I'm sure you'll do great! Enjoy the run!
Thanks!
