My assignment was to participate in Mud Hero in Red Deer and write a first person account. I wore a GoPro (until the battery died) for part of the event. It was a lot of fun!
This was my first time doing a “mud run” and it sure as heck owns its name. I went into the run with fun on my mind. I didn’t think about the time. (Now everyone please stop asking was was my finishing time!)

Dont' worry Crystal, I'd be a wuss too! I've never done a mud run. As fun as it sounds, I'd be afraid of getting injured or something. How boring is that?! Lol. That's incredibly cool that you get a medal!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the video! My 7 year old was watching with me and wanted to know why you were not running if it was a race. I think I need to take this kid off road and show him it's not easy to "run" in the mud!
Ha ha yeah! It was super fun. I want to do more! There were a lot of kids too. Your son would love it!
Glad you had a fun time. I've wanted to try a mud run for a while. I would be totally worried about not being able to complete the obstacles too!
Good job! I think I'm too much of a wuss to try an obstacle course run. Good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new.
This looks awesome! A couple of my friends did it as well. They loved it but said it was soooo much tougher than they expected. I want to do it next year!
That actually looks SO fun! Obstacle races haven't interested me all that much, but that looks like a blast! something to consider for next year ๐
I loved Mud Hero which I did 2 years ago. I would say that Spartan is less fun due to a bit too much macho nonsense. That and my wife's still not 100% from her injury.
