Nothing beats a refreshing jaunt on the trails after a long day at work.
I was looking forward to this moment, this experience all day long. It was a glorious spring day in Red Deer. I couldn’t wait to feel the sun beat down on my face while I ran hard on the trail.
I wanted to feel alive.
My trail is a short loop on a x-country ski trail in the city. It isn’t long but it sure does the trick with its winding hills and paths.
One of the things I love the most about running trail is the feeling that I get in just about every part of my body. I don’t get that feeling when I am pounding the asphalt.
On trail I feel my legs as they work overtime to climb that hill or my core as I hold my balance to jump over a log or to cruise downhill.
I feel free.
I feel alive.
