I’ve been keeping this quiet for a few weeks. I am a 2014 Calgary Marathon ForeRUNNER. (Read my bio here.) I am so excited and honoured to blog about my journey to Calgary. This is another opporunity to be part of the golden anniversary of Canada’s longest running marathon is simply awesome! Besides we could all use a little more celebrity and accountability, right?
I am looking forward to meeting the other ambassadors: Michelle, Peter, Lindsay, Leigh, Lindsey, Tina, Karen, Terry, Martin and Krista at the route reveal (see below). Actually I am a little in awe of these runners. Just check out their blogs! (Between you and me, I think my inclusion may have been an “oops” because I’m not a Calgarian. Let’s just keep that our little secret, okay?)
As I wrote in November, I am super pumped about this year’s race. (Read my gushing post right here.) It’s going to be the PARTY MARATHON of the race season. There seems to be a good show of runners from Central Alberta who have already signed up! They are just as excited as I am to be a part of the celebrations (oh, and run too).
I am still tweaking my training schedule before I commit on blog. As I mentioned in a previous post I am going to do the less is more approach with a concentration on speed work. I just signed up (about an hour ago) with a new crossfit gym. They had a promo this month that I could not resist. I expect I will be giving my balancing skills a test! (More on Crossfit later).
In the meantime, I am desperately searching for costume ideas. I want something that’s funky & runable. Any ideas?

Show up with your proof of registration in order to snag some awesome Calgary Marathon swag. This goes for ANY distance. Come say hi between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Congrats Crystal, your an inspiration to all of us runners, I am proud to brag to people I know one of the ambassadors. This will be my first half, looking forward to it. You should go as a super hero. That would be good.
