Adios 2013: Looking forward to what 2014 has in store

Hello friends!

This is my 286th blog post from 2013. Wow I obviously had a lot to say over the last 12 months. I want to thank you for stopping by and leaving comments this year. Without you, I would feel like I was talking to myself.  Please come back in 2014. I promise it gets better!

For the most part 2013 was a good year.

I went on two holidays – one race-related and the other to visit family. I bought my car at the end of its lease. I will remember the big spending for sure! I also made some peace with my past. It’s a struggle but every step counts.
I scaled back running this year & jumped into Crossfit. I ran my first ultramarathon and set new PRs at most distances. I volunteered at two races and helped a friend through two races. Running was very good to me indeed! Read my 2013 Running Highlight Reel here.

No wild New Year’s Eve parties for me. Tonight I am just kicking back and hitting the reset button. I am excited about what the new year will bring. I’ve set some great running and personal goals. I don’t do “resolutions” but I do believe in the power of setting goals every day, week, month and year. Recently I put up a whiteboard off my kitchen where I can see it from all angles of my apartment. Smart, right? I’m using the board to write down my goals. I used to pin stuff on my fridge but it didn’t work as well. I think this will because it is so visible!

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say Happy New Year! I hope 2014 brings you more happiness and awesome running!

Happy trails!
