I’m used to nagging injuries, tight schedules and not enough hours in the day. But on Thursday morning, my Versa was rear-ended after she hit a patch of ice. Don’t worry, I’m okay. Poor Versa needs a new bumper though.
All this before coffee and before 9 a.m. Sigh. I have never been in a car accident before so this shook me up pretty bad. Thankfully no one was hurt. We exchanged insurance details and went on our ways. I dealt with the police, the insurance company and the doctor before I went home to cry.
No running for a couple days. My neck was feeling pretty stiff on Friday so I left work a few hours early. No doubt sitting and typing at a computer was not helping my bout of whiplash. (I start physio on Tuesday)
With Friday came the snow. And lots of it. Even if I wanted to run, it would have been challenging. I bounced back on Saturday and Sunday. I did what I could with the unplowed sidewalks, trails and roads.
I know one week will not make or break my marathon. I’m just a little frustrated with the setbacks I’ve had during this training cycle. One thing after another…. Grrrr!
Who knows? I might just PR at this marathon!
Week 11:
Monday: Rest-ish/Cross training with weights
Tuesday: 6k tempo
Wednesday: 11k tempo
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 9k – hill repeats
Sunday: One hour slow run/crawl/hike
I am really, really counting down the days until I hop on a plane for Arizona! I’m sure I over the worst of all the hiccups. What can happen in 3 weeks. How was your week?
Wow you have had a tough few days! So happy you are going to be ok. I have been struggling with the cold weather and not wanting to go out….so finally I came up with the plan that I will do all exercises indoors, except for maybe one run a week.
That sounds like a plan I need to adopt. Thanks 🙂 I shall overcome 🙂
