Every other week I join Sona and Brent for dinner at their home. I feel like their adopted grown child. We roll up our sleeves and whip up a healthy meal with a focus on vegetables. It’s super fun. It’s a surefire way to safe some cash and to enjoy a healthy meal with friends. On Sunday, I went to their house to watch Breaking Bad. I arrived an hour early so we could eat. Brent had prepared a lovely green veg curry and Sona whipped up a quinoa salad. All so tasty. Wine and snacks were my contributions.
I love eating at restaurants but I love eating in with friends. In Red Deer, there’s your chain restaurants and a few random upstarts. Not much choice but I can always find a good sushi restaurant.
Sometimes I get into the habit of eating at the food court near my office. Not good. I usually eat some Korean dish or some random meal. Lately I have been doing really well at bringing my own healthy lunch. I brought back Sunday Prep Food Day into my kitchen which has made this a lot easier.
I have to the realization that I am an emotional eater. I eat mindlessly or not at all when I am stressed or when I am depressed. I’m really trying to break this habit. In the meantime, the first step is admitting your problem, right?
Do you pack a lunch? What’s in it?
