Putting the ugly into cleans: Crossfit

Arnold is one cool dude. I stumbled on one of his pictures today. Made me smile. I thought about the old Terminator movies and such. But I digress, this really has nothing to do with today’s post.

I went to my third barbell class this morning. We focused on cleans. I’m fine with that because my cleans are ugly on any given day. As much as I tried, I couldn’t wrap my brain around the pulling and shrugging. I should have stayed in bed. Simply put, it was not pretty. 
Lately I am finding it really difficult to sleep. Twice this week I did not get more than four hours of sleep. Not good. I need to get a handle on this before I get too far into my training. Sleep is so important regardless if I am training for a marathon or not. It’s a no-brainer – quality sleep is essential. You will perform better if you are well-rested than if you are not. Common sense. 
Ever get into one of those phases where you cannot sleep? What did you do?

  1. I wish barbell club was Wednesdays and Fridays because I could actually attend those days while Liam is with his dad.

  2. That would be cool! I had a really ugly workout. I may have been still sleeping. 🙂
