Melissa’s Road Race in Banff (10K & 22K)

Come September I will be amongst the 350 or lucky runners competing in Melissa’s Road Race in Banff. This race wasn’t on my radar this year but I signed up anyway on a whim. I was lucky. The widely popular race generally fills up within a few hours. And it usually makes the cut in Alberta’s Top Road Race every year.

I signed up for the 22k. My reasoning was if you’re going to run in Banff, you might as well go all out. Tiffany has signed up for the 10k so it will be great to see her there. As well there seems to be a lot of local guys that are in the race too.

I booked a hotel for two nights. Banff is expensive on a good day. I picked a hotel close to the start and within walking distance to downtown. Perfect. I am so excited. The timing will be great too. I have nothing major planned after my 50k. (A couple Spartans so I will need something to train for)

This is a weird distance to train. Less than one kilometre more than a half-marathon. I’m really excited though. It’s going to be a blast. I’ve been looking at pictures from past races – Fabulous!
