Goodbye “Dave” WOD

Today was Dave’s last day at Ignite. Traditionally when someone leaves the box or something significant happens, someone crafts a WOD named after them. I decided to go at 5 p.m. because Dave said he would do the WOD then. There were about 10 or so of us.

The “DAVE” WOD

(20 minute ARAP)
20 Double Unders
15 Air squats
10 Vertical KBS
5  Elbows to Knees

It was a strange WOD. Only until we were sitting around after the WOD did we realized the WOD spelled out Dave’s name. Duh. Now the “vertical” KBS make sense. Aren’t all KBSs vertical?

I started off fast. I lost count after the 7 or 8 round. I was keeping pace with Catherine’s brother and when my chalk mysteriously disappeared, I gave up counting. In the end I threw out a random number – 12 – that was probably in the ball park of what I did.

Here’s a few of us after the WOD. I am taking the picture obviously. My body was sore from yesterday’s WOD but I am glad I left work early to do the WOD with these guys. Good time! I will miss Dave and I wish him all the luck with his new job!
