Spotting runners in the distance, I sprinted to catch up with them. I could see the runners separate and go in two directions. I followed the wrong group. It turned out to be the learn to run group. I turned around and tried to catch up with the other runners. No such luck. I didn’t know the route so I lost them.
So on this lovely winter morning, it was just me and my shadow. I didn’t bring my headphones so I had to listen to my own huffing and puffing for 7 kms.
Is it possible to lose your running groove in a month? Gosh I felt so out of shape! My right foot was bugging me too. Maybe it was a blessing I ran alone. I would have slowed everybody down.
It’s humbling to start at square one again. I know I have to start slow. I have to allow time for my foot/leg to heal. It sucks. At least I have CrossFit to keep me motivated.
