Seems the rest of the world has caught up to those people who have been tweeting for years. I am one of them. I mean I have been tweeting for years. I used to tweet work-related stuff A LOT in Grande Prairie. As a reporter, it’s a great way to connect, find sources and get more followers. Everyone wants to know what’s going on their community even if it’s just a snapshot.
Since I took this new job, I’ve had to switch my tweeting ways. We have a work policy that instructs us not to tweet about work. Makes sense mostly but when you’re in the business of sharing the “news” it’s almost backwards. But we do have a paywall so to save all the headaches it’s probably a good thing sorta.
So now I tweet mostly about running and crossfit. I like to post fun articles and chat someone what other runners/reporters. There are no rules. Unless of course, you have a public job and you care about what kind of image you are sending out in the wild, wild Internet.
