There were four of us – Julie, Cheryl, Suze and myself. It’s nice to have a small class because we get more one-on-one time with the coach. This particular coach hasn’t lead us before so we were a little nervous. He looked so mean.
After our warm up, he called us to the middle and told us what our skill would be that day and our WOD. We worked on thrusters and overhead presses with the dowel. I’m not sure how my form was but I tried to really focus and get it right.
Then we moved onto the bar. We warmed up with a 25 lb bar. Then we added weight until we struggled to do five reps. I managed to press 35 lbs with good form. At least I think my technique was okay. I was impressed with this coach in his ability to explain and show us the proper form. Okay so he wasn’t that mean.
Our WOD was pretty tame: 200 metre run, 5 push ups and 10 sit ups X 3. I’ll take it. I wasn’t completely awake. Overall I felt good about the workout. I bought a dowel from Canadian Tire so I can practice my squats and stretch my shoulders better at home.
And that was my Saturday workout!
