I wanted to give you an update on my no bagel-no bread rule. It’s been less than a week and I think I have kicked my habit. Well at least that’s what I am telling myself.
This morning I had a huge craving for a toasted cinnamon bagel and peanut butter. Yum! Instead of giving into my craving, I sliced an apple and dipped the pieces in peanut butter. Very tasty. It’s also one of my favorite snacks of all time. A perfect combination.
I am forced to be creative for breakfast. One morning I ate a baked portobello mushroom with spinach and tomatoes.
I have re-discovered a love for oatmeal. I’ve also eaten quinoa with seeds and nuts for brekky. Tasty.
Still I have a small food confession. I can’t stop eating. I have this constant urge to stay busy by stuffing my face. I think it’s because I have so much time on my hands. I need to curtail this before I have to buy a new wardrobe.
I’m off smoothies this week. It has a lot to do with the cold weather. I crave hot and steaming meals. I’ve only been looking at the pictures in my Runner’s World Complete Guide to Nutrition. I am slowly making a grocery list from the book. I want to fill my pantry with all the suggested goodies. Soon. Very soon.
