Sleepy in Red Deer

I’m getting up earlier this week as part of my marathon prep. My bus leaves at 6 a.m. from the New York Library. And my start time is 10:10 a.m. So you do the math. It’s going to be a very early day. This last week I have to ensure I get enough rest because I know I won’t be sleeping the night before the race.

I’m also carb loading. Did I mention I hate pasta? I’m eating tons of potatoes and bread. I can already feel my waistband expanding. I’m drinking tons of water. However, I’m not giving up coffee. I’m not that crazy.

I have a short steady run planned for today. I feel pretty tired right now. No doubt,  a blast of cold air will wake me up in no time. This morning I didn’t do much with my extra hours of leisure. I ran into the office to print off a few things, grabbed coffee and now I’m home.

The news never ends. I’ve caught up with about a dozen blogs and websites. I really should be doing something productive. And I am now watching (or at least listening) to the football game.
