My magic sneakers did the trick. I ran for nearly 3 hours and clocked 27 km on the Garmin. I feel good.
I needed to stop for a potty break after 9 km but otherwise it was smooth sailing. I ran from my apartment, to Bower Ponds, on to Heritage Ranch and on the other side of the River. I crossed at the CPR bridge and continued on to the River Bend Golf Course and turned around.
At the 24 km mark my left leg started to twitch so I stopped to stretch for a few minutes. I was running a little faster now so I tried to slow it down slightly.
I finished strong. I couldn’t wait to get off my feet though. Of course I had to climb five flights of stairs to my apartment.
I had a good stretch. In the coming weeks I will have to add more stretching to my routine.
