Gosh time does fly by when you’re not training. To be more precise time flies when you’re not training as hard as you should be.
I feel good though. The Hypothermic will be my second half-marathon, and my first in the bloody winter. It’s going to be a completely different experience than my first in Vegas.
The only thing remaining the same will be the distance (21k or 13.1 miles). That I can take comfort in.
I am going to be wearing lots of layers. I won’t know the temperature until that morning. Not comforting. There’s going to be snow and ice. I am going to be cold.
It’s a given my pace will be slower with all those things thrown in the mix. I am totally okay with this. I want to embrace this experience and focus on finishing. I finished in 2hr in Vegas. I would be happy finishing around the 2:15 mark or so.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not going out to finish slower. I just want to be realistic and finish without hurting.
Let the countdown begin. I am getting excited. I am happy Carleigh and Wendy are running too.
Have some fun out there! :0)
